21c Museum Hotel Durham

Ok, for anyone taking the time to read these reviews, BOOK NOW! So, I am a bit of a snob when it comes to hotel stays. I expect to receive everything I paid for which includes the customer service. Therefore, I pay for top notch quality and that is exactly what I received. Let's start with my arrival. I didn't have to worry about parking because Stan took care of valet parking before I could say onomatopoeia. He greeted me the way an uncle would...a friendly smile, confident in his job, and sure that my car would be in good hands. I forgot the young lady's name at check in (her race absolutely does not mattet but if it help to get kudos to the right person, she was a yound African American with beautiful braids) but she also very friendly and professional. Checking in was a breeze. It might take you longer than expected to get to your room, not because of checking in but because you will be amazingly overwhelmed by all of the artwork in the lobby. Next, my room was perfect. Nice view of the city, comfortable bed (not too soft and not too firm) clean fresh white sheets, a fridge, beautiful black tiled bathroom. Can we pause for the shower. I'm talking perfect shower pressure and temperature ladies. Oh and cute touch with the lil rubber 🦆❤️. I don't use microwaves but after visiting the restaurant downstairs... The restaurant. The chef!!! Do not order your food to your room. If possible, sit in the restaurant because the wait staff is freaking awesome. They are all very attentive (and handsome 😍). Ok, back to the chef. I didn't get to meet her but she deserves an award. Oh wait, I think she got one. Ask about it! I ordered the Japanese sweer bread and gnocchi. I can't even describe the beautiful flavors my taste buds experienced but it was damn delicious. Their drinks give exactly what they are supposed to give. Nothing is watered down. I glanced in the gym. Yes, glanced because I went to relax not work. LOL.

I really enjoyed being immersed in the art and exploring the building.

The space was excellent. The museum was impressive and I would love to visit again. The room amenities were great. The bar and restaurant provided excellent service. So many things were considered for my comfort.

Vic was absolutely brilliant! She made the stay amazing! We enjoyed our tour of the gallery and her impeccable insight and conversation. She is a .true asset to your organization. We will definitely be back in 2025

The room was extremely clean and the location was optimal based on the activities I planned for my trip. Around the area there are plenty of restaurants with diverse food and options for every budget.
